Watch TV app will NOT allow you to ff/rw VOW. That was the same in earlier versions.
Yes, you can add M3U playlist to MediaPlayer (use add resource function). That would be better for VoD.

But is it possible to get the box to show the groups in that mode also (Like in the mode)? Right now it shows 10 000 channels and VODS in a looooong list. And there is no fast scrolling avaible

The only way is to create root playlist that will refer to sub-playlists.

Hm. Why chup/down speed not enough? It can scroll hundreds of items in a couple of seconds.

I can't watch the movies on the Media app... files not supported, when I add the m3u playlist here. Can you please give us a guide how to add the source correctly.

Well, it depends on what kind of files this M3U references. If links are correct, it should play.

As the OP are saying, why is it not possible to stop, pause, jump back or forward on VOD when running content source set to M3U-playlist?
