remote loses connection TVIP 605

My box works excellent but for the last couple of weekes I have a problem that the remote loses connection and connects again repeatedly when trying to change channels through the ch up/down button. Sometimes when it reconnects its runs 20-30 channels up or down. I have changed the batteries om the remote, restarted the bos etc but no change. Any suggestion? Do you think I have to change the remote?
