Yes, I tried the web portal. But as far as I understand I have to register the MAC address with my provider and the address was not accepted (probably because it is not recognised as a MAG...). Apart from that I don't really like the MAG surface.

I also tried the IPTV-portal but the box won't accept my server address (can fill it in but cannot press "enter"). Is this mode only possible with Android OS?

This is anyway what I wonder - whether I should switch to Android OS and try it then (either m3u or IPTV portal). What do you think?

I have now tried with the Android OS - same problem. The EPG file gives an error and I cannot use IPTV portal nor Webportal.

Tried this too (at the end of the playlist) - it had no effect.

Or did I make a mistake?

no effect means: I get the same ERROR - the box tries to load but it fails

Have now set up everything with the Web Portal. After contacting the IPTV provider and having properly registered the MAC address, it now works.

I am still puzzled by the fact that the 605 box cannot load the xmtlv file while e.g. apple tv can. Maybe something is special with the server of the provider that the 605 box does not tolerate.

Can you try to download this xmltv, and put it on local web server without authorization.
Then make new m3u playlist with it xmpltv for EPG.

yes, that works. But then I have to download the updated EPG file every week....

yes, it works with web portal. But here I cannot record and time shift does not work either. Provider tells me they stream for recording.
In settings I selected SD card for both recording and time shift - anything else I need to do?
